Research
Internet
Video Chat System, CWRU, supervised by Prof. Papachristou, 01/01-05/01
Designed
and implemented the embedded system of IVCS on processor level. Main
work included user interface and environment definition, system and executable
function specification, system partitioning, components selecting, controller/media
processing part design and simulation, and marketing analysis. SpecCharts
language, FSM representation, VHDL and FPGA tools were used.
QFTP
ver1.0, CWRU, supervised by Prof. Ergun, 01/01-03/01
Designed
an FTP software on base of RFC959 under Microsoft Windows environment using
Visual C++ 6.0. The main function of version 1.0 are
USER, PASS, LIST, PORT, PETR, STOR, AND QUIT.
DLX
Microprocessor, CWRU, supervised by Prof. Saab, 10/00-12/00
Designed
and simulated the pipelined DLX Microprocessor created and described by
J. L. Hennessy and D. A. Patterson in their book Computer Architecture
- A Quantitative Approach. Main work included 32-bit integer ALU
operation, 32-bit pipelined architecture, basic program control branch,
exception handling and data/control hazard handling. Mentor Graphics schematic
and simulation tools and VHDL were used.
Image
Classification (Bachelor Thesis), THU, supervised by Prof. Sun,
Weidong , 09/99-06/00
To
innovate a new image classification algorithm to classify NOAA AVHRR (low-resolution)
images from classified TM (high-resolution, also use the new algorithm)
images taken on the same spot as the former. Then compare the new algorithm
with classical ones such as ISODATA, K-Means, to assess the quality of
their application in different resolution remote sensing images.
Experience
Co-op
Full-time, Silicon Graphics Inc., Mountain View ,CA, 06/01-12/01
Teaching
Assistant, CWRU, 08/00-05/01
Fall'00:
Leading recitations and grading labs of EEAP246 Signals and Systems.
Spring'01:
Making solutions and grading homework of ECES321 Digital System Design.
Part-time
Engineer, Tsinghua Applied Physics Department and Tsinghua Pengyuan
Corporation , 10/99-04/00
Designed
control circuits of liquid crystal displays (LCD) and wrote drive modules
in assembly language.
Internship,
China Science & Technology Networks (CSTNet), China Academy of
Science (CAS), 07/99-08/99
Developed
a software for Unix environmental network flow management based on Simple
Network Management Protocol (SNMP). Main tools were C++ language and WinSockets.
